Book Review: Out of Time

Description: A busy woman blindly rushing through a grocery store. A hard-working man with a pink slip. A desperate teen girl who has a terrible secret. All are running out of time, and the choices they make will change their lives forever. Each story is approximately 1200 words in length.

Two things I can always count on Darlington for: solid writing and raw emotion. She tackles hard issues, not with easy answers or platitudes, but with the love of Christ.

Each of these stories will challenge you. They aren’t light reads to make you feel happy; they are made to open your eyes to those hurting around you. After all, if we are the church, shouldn’t we be out offering an answer for those starving for hope? It may be messy and even painful, but it is so worth it.

I highly recommend this short story collection to those who are looking to be challenged or inspired, and those who like well-written short stories.

  1. I really like C.J. Darlington's books. I'm currently re-reading the first one in her Thicker than Blood series. Thank you for reviewing this book of hers. :)
