Age Appropriate for: All Ages

Best for Ages: 12-15

Description: I turned back to my father. I was angry now, and questions poured out of my mouth. "Where have you been? How did you find out about mother's death? Why are you here now, and when do you plan on abandoning me again?"
Father searched my eyes, pain and regret on his face. "Daughter, I have something I need to tell you." He looked behind his shoulder, then back to me. "I'm a wanted man."

Eocene Michal has never known her father, until her mother's death brings him into her life. When she finds out the details of her father's dark and criminal past, she must make a decision. Hold the past against him, or forgive.

Set in 1730's Virginia, this is a story of loyalty, love, and betrayal--and the choices we make when confronted with the truth
After reading several novels that were 300+ pages long, I was ready for a nice, short read. A Bit of Seawater seemed just the thing. It wasn’t very expensive and I was delighted when it came in time for me to have it for a Sunday read.

There were a few minor mistakes, like the sun setting into the ocean even though they are on the east coast. However, these mistakes were minor and easily overlooked.

This story, even though it was short (only 109 pages) Morgan-Britney was able to develop a story that was very interesting and with a main character that had real depth and whom you could really feel for. A couple of the side characters suffered from the shortness of the story. However, it didn’t really bother me.

I highly recommend this book to those interested in stories of redemption, second chances, faith, and adventure. I myself can’t wait for her next book.
