Book Review: Samuel Adams by Amber Schamel

Samuel Adams (Remington Colt's Revolutionary Series - The Declaration of Independence)

Age Appropriate For: All Ages
Best for Ages: All Ages

Description: Liberty hangs in the balance. With Pennsylvania's vote divided, the declaration may not pass. Samuel Adams has two hours to convince the delegates to pass the document, or the lives sacrificed for freedom will be worthless.

Even though I had read two wonderful stories by Amber, my hopes for Samuel Adams were not high after reading the previous volume in this series (which was written by a different author). This story, however, was much better written and far more enjoyable.

Schamel did a wonderful job (as she normally does) telling a story in a short amount of time. She developed the character very well and made the pages of this story very interesting. Unlike the last book in the series, this book wasn’t choppy at all and only had one flashback.

This story was very well researched. I could tell that Schamel knew her stuff, which made the book feel very real, without overwhelming the reader with historical facts.

I highly recommend this book to history lovers, those interested in the Declaration of Independence, or anyone looking for an entertaining short story.
