Interview with Ada Walladge

Ada, Welcome to Homeschool Authors! Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Thank you, Sarah. I’m a fourteen year old homeschooler living out in the beautiful bush of South Australia. I’ve been homeschooled all my live, along with my three other siblings, and absolutely love it.
I’ve had a love for writing as long as I could remember. I wrote my first little story at the age of five (about three sentences long and a whole lot of wobbly stick figures).

What was your favorite part of being homeschooled?
Hmm, that’s a hard one. Probably the great Christian education I get.

What are some of your favorite books?
I’m a huge reader and I have loads of favorites  But a few I really enjoy is the Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery. I think all of L.M. Montgomery’s literary works beautiful. Her writing style is so vivid and brings everything to life.
Pilgrim’s Progress is an all time favorite of mine.
A very touching book I’ve read many times over is Broad is the Way by Marjorie Buckingham.

What inspired you to write Heart's Fire?
The inspiration came when I was manning a large bonfire.  I was wondering what would happen if it got out of control. Well, it all started from there! The ideas kept on flowing in.

What is Heart's Fire about?
It’s about a fourteen year old girl, Sandra-Lee Baldwin, who accidently drops a live match into her neighbor's haystack. It catches alight and gets out of control. She doesn't tell anyone she is the culprit and her guilt steady grows.

Who will enjoy it?
I’ve put the ages down as 8-16, but think any age will enjoy it.

Where can people get it?
You can buy it directly from me by emailing: (Payment through direct deposit), and Heart’s Fire should be on Amazon in a few months or so.

Do you plan to write more books?
Oh, yes!! I plan to keep on writing books for the rest of my life! I’ve just started another novel. It’s just bunch ideas floating somewhere around in my head and a few pages of scribbles at the moment (most of which have been screwed up and thrown over my shoulder in disgust. :P)

Do you have any final thoughts?
I’d like to encourage all the budding authors out there and don’t ever give up!
Thanks for interviewing me; Sarah, greatly appreciate it! :D

  1. Someone shares my love for L. M. Montgomery! :)
Good interview, and great job, Ada, with the book!

  2. Got no response to the email. Just saying.
